Job Description

Responsibilities

Perform, during rotating shifts, mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and inspection activities on industrial equipment and machinery to ensure equipment reliability, availability and continuous plant operations.

Work on a rotating shift basis, including weekends and public holidays as required by plant operations.

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems, production equipment, and infrastructure.

Perform inspection, troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment including conveyors, crushers, gearboxes, pumps, fans, compressors, bearings, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and other critical equipment.

Conduct regular inspections, diagnose mechanical failures, and perform troubleshooting using precision measurement and testing tools.

Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs, ensuring the reliability and continuous availability of critical equipment.

Perform corrective maintenance, including root cause analysis, disassembly, repair or replacement of defective parts, followed by reassembly and compliance testing.

Refurbish or rebuild certain equipment as needed: cleaning, mechanical adjustments, part replacement, and functional testing.

Support maintenance engineers and supervisors during equipment installation, modification, repair and improvement activities.

Read, interpret, and apply drawings, diagrams, and technical manuals, and propose improvements or modifications to existing designs as necessary.

Use, maintain, and ensure the safe operation of the hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments required for maintenance tasks.

Complete service reports, maintenance records, follow-up forms, and other technical documents accurately and within the specified deadlines.

Apply lockout/tagout (LOTO), isolation and energy control procedures before and during maintenance activities.

Strictly adhere to safety guidelines, internal procedures, and the HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) regulations in effect at the cement plant.

Contribute to achieving the maintenance department’s operational objectives by actively participating in the continuous improvement of equipment performance.

Qualifications

A minimum BAC+2/3 in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.

A minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience industrial maintenance, preferably in a cement plant or heavy industry.

A higher technical qualification will be considered an advantage

Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, technical drawings, and equipment diagrams.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively report on completed work.

Ability to quickly diagnose mechanical failures and implement effective solutions.

Good knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards applicable to industrial maintenance activities.

Strong team spirit and the ability to collaborate effectively with production and maintenance teams.

Solid skills in technical analysis and complex problem-solving.

Proficiency with computer tools and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Knowledge of preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance techniques for industrial equipment.

Good knowledge of bearings, couplings, gearboxes, chains, belts and mechanical transmission systems.

Knowledge of lubrication practices and lubrication management.

Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Ability to perform mechanical alignment and basic mechanical measurements.

Knowledge of vibration monitoring and condition monitoring techniques is an advantage.

Ability to safely use mechanical workshop equipment and tools.

Ability to use measuring instruments and mechanical diagnostic tools.
